Foot and Ankle Care
TEXT SIZE

Foot and ankle pain are common problems. On average people spend about four hours a day on their feet and take 8,000 - 10,000 steps. Because feet are small compared with the rest of the body, the impact of each step exerts a force about 50% greater than a person's body weight. This means on that average day the feet and ankles support a combined force equivalent to several hundred tons every day.

We have developed an outstanding program in foot and ankle surgery at Mercy Hospital and we are quickly becoming known for our expertise in foot and ankle pathology.  At the new Fore River Hospital we have a state-of-the-art outpatient center with highly trained nurses to make each patient’s experience a positive one.
