Mercy Gastroenterology Welcomes Dr. McCrann
Mercy Gastroenterology, led by Dr. Christopher Kleeman, is proud to announce that Dr. Catherine H. McCrann has joined the practice. Dr. McCrann comes to Mercy from Central Maine Gastroenterology in Lewiston where she specialized in general gastroenterology with special interest in women’s health, inflammatory bowel disease and autoimmune liver diseases.
“I’m looking forward to working with the experienced team at Mercy Gastroenterology,” explained Dr. McCrann. “Mercy has a longstanding tradition of providing quality, effective and compassionate care and I look forward to supporting that mission. My previous experience will prove to be a benefit to this community. As one of the few female gastroenterologists in Maine, I hope to enhance the gastrointestinal health of women. I grew up in the greater Portland area and I am thrilled to be practicing here”
Dr. McCrann completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Medical and Physical Anthropology at Yale University in New Haven, CT. She earned her Doctor of Medicine, with distinction for research in infectious diseases, from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University in 2003. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and was Chief Resident from 2006 – 2007. She completed a Fellowship in the Section of Digestive Diseases at Yale in 2010, and earned awards for excellence in patient care during both residency and fellowship.
Mercy Gastroenterology has been providing compassionate care for patients in the greater Portland area for over many years. Mercy Gastroenterology is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract and liver.
