Please join us on Tuesday, February 2nd from 3:00- 5:00pm at St. Joseph’s College 278 Whites Bridge Road Standish, Maine 04084 for an important discussion of the health status of our community and the ways we can work together to improve it.  In the event of a snow storm, we will hold the event on Thursday February 4th from 3:00- 5:00pm at St. Joseph’s College 278 Whites Bridge Road Standish, Maine 04084.

Mercy Hospital is working collaboratively with healthcare providers across Maine and with the state to assess the health of people in our communities and come up with plans for making improvements. An important part of that process is you, and we need your voice as we try to tackle tough issues like addiction, childhood obesity, tobacco use and many others.

Together we will take a look at the major findings in 2015 Shared Community Health Needs Assessment, which details health status indicators by county and for the state as whole. We’ll then gather your input so that we and other area healthcare providers can devise a plan for improving community health.

The Health Needs Assessment report was produced by the Shared Health Needs Assessment and Planning Process Project, which is a collaborative of Central Maine Health Care, Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, MaineGeneral Health, MaineHealth and the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Assessment is produced every three years in accordance with federal law, and participants then use the report and feedback from the public to develop health improvement plans. This process is an important way for Maine Medical Center (MaineHealth), Mercy Hospital (Eastern Maine Health System), Spring Harbor Hospital (Maine Behavioral Healthcare) and Bridgton Hospital (Central Maine Healthcare) to provide not just good care, but to help make our community among the healthiest in the nation.

We hope you’ll join us. Your voice can and will make a difference.
