Robert J. Masterson Nursing Scholarship Awarded

Brooke Harris, a student graduating from the University of Maine at Fort Kent School of Nursing, was awarded a $1000 scholarship to assist with her studies. Harris is currently working in the home health field as a nurse, and will be pursuing graduate school.
The Robert J. Masterson Nursing Scholarship award is named after Bob Masterson - a tireless advocate for family presence at the bedside in critical care at Mercy Hospital for more than thirty years.  It was in his honor that Mercy established the Robert J. Masterson Nursing Scholarship to provide financial assistance to students attending a Maine college or university who, like Bob, aspire to one day work at the bedside in critical care.
The next round of scholarship applications will be available this spring with awards made for the fall semester.
