Many private or commercial health insurance companies and HMOs now require “pre-authorization” before a hospital admission, surgery, or other major medical procedure. We encourage you to contact your health insurance company for approval before your scheduled procedure. Pre-approval will minimize delays and reassure you that your health insurance or HMO will cover your medical expenses.
