Mercy participates in all major health insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Many private or commercial health insurance companies and HMOs now require “pre-authorization” before a hospital admission, surgery, or other major medical procedure. We encourage you to contact your health insurance company for approval before your scheduled procedure. Pre-approval will minimize delays and reassure you that your health insurance or HMO will cover your medical expenses.

If you do not currently have a health insurance plan, we would be happy to help you identify community resources for which you might qualify. Mercy will work with you to arrange a manageable, long-term payment plan and/or determine if you qualify for our free care program. RSS
