The George HW Bush Cape Arundel Celebrity Classic presented by Bass Pro Shops is held every year in June at the historic Cape Arundel Golf Club, where Phil Mickelson currently holds the course record, since shooting a 60 (9 under par) on October 2, 2006.

Named after our 41st President, who has been in attendance nearly every year since its inception in 2002, including most recently in 2017, the tournament benefits Gary's House. This hospitality home, operated by Mercy Hospital, located in Portland, Maine, is a tribute to Gary Pike, a life-long Kennebunk resident who died at a young age from a rare cancer.

The tournament is a 2-day event beginning on Monday evening, June 19, with the Gala at the oceanfront Colony Hotel. Dress code is cocktail attire, but we don't mind if you want to break out your best suit and tie! The evening begins with an ocean view silent auction with cocktails and tasty bites. Then we move into the Grand Dining Room for a scrumptious dinner and rowdy live auction where you will find sports tickets, incredible original artwork, exciting travel experiences, authentic historical items, and so much more. We've been known to have personal items from the Bush Family, including the 41st President's briefcase!

A distinguished volunteer who has made an impact on Gary's House will be presented with the "Point of Light" award, an honor originally created by the 41st President based on a term he used in his 1988 Presidential nomination speech.

On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, you'll park at the driving range at 8:30 AM and ride the trolley to the course where the day begins with a chef's breakfast, celebrity meet and greet, and Trish Koch's famous Bloody Mary Bar. Tee time is 10 AM. Along the course, you will be treated to a Maine feast including local fresh lobster rolls, chowder from the famed Maine Diner, and local craft beer from Shipyard. The day ends with a casual award ceremony under the tent at the clubhouse.

Keep your eyes open for celebrity sightings!
